5 Features Your Web Host Must Have
December 11, 2011 | 1 Comment
It is important that your web host has all the greatest features and technologies. However, you may not be aware of what you should look for in a web host. They all say they are the best, most reliable, etc. but how do you decipher who is really telling the truth? How do you find out what is really important when choosing a web host? In this article you will find the 5 things your web host must have. When you are researching a web host and you come across one that does not have these 5 things just click away to find one that does have what you need.
5 Features Your Web Host Must Have
1. Greatest Control Panel: The control panel is the place you will be visiting most often, so it should be easy to use, have all the features you need, etc. You can find a great control panel with cPanel, which provides one of the best control panel user experiences among all of the others. CPanel offers more than 42 different icons, 50 of the most used PHP scripts, shopping carts, forums, and even a WordPress blog – one of the best blog hosts out there. cPanel also provides an easy to use layout and navigation so when you do use it you can forget about frustration.
2. On 24-7: Your web host should be working for you around the clock. This will keep your website up and running 99.9% of the time, and the server should be able to locate and repair any problems as soon as they appear. It is rare that a server could become inactive, but if/when it does happen, you do not want it to happen to your website. That could mean lost sales, lost visitors, and maybe even lost customers for life. No one wants that. The web host should be working all of the time – no exceptions. It should constantly monitor your website at least every few minutes for problems, check your server load and RAM, and be able to let administrators know immediately so they can instantaneously fix the problem. Your web host should also provide a fire wall to keep your website safe from hackers, viruses, and anything else that could effect your website.
3. An Outstanding Server: If you want to avoid regular problems and too much downtime (all that can be avoided) you need to find a web host with a reliable server. The web host’s server should have multiple hard drives, good RAM, the latest CPUs, the best power supply, quality motherboards, a great cooling system, and a testing system for all new servers.
4. Linux Servers: No, you do not need windows servers. You should get a web host that uses Linux only. You don’t need to have Linux on your own computer to have a web host that uses Linux. Linux has been shown to be more reliable and able to handle larger loads than other server operating systems. It is even better at virus protection and has a better uptime than others.
5. Free Features: Your web host should provide you with a variety of free features, or features that you can use for a small fee. These features should include things that you can use for your website such as graphics, blogs, paid pages, sub domains, interesting facts to add to your website, forums, and more.

All About Mobile Domain Names
November 1, 2011 | Leave a Comment
When the Internet first came out it was restricted to a wired connection to a computer. Eventually technology improved, creating wireless Internet. At that point the Internet could be accessible through desktops, laptops and mobile devices without wiring. This means that the Internet was now portable. And as more mobile devices are getting created, consumers are exploring how to increase this portability. In fact, wireless Internet has gotten so popular with mobile devices, domain name companies have created a new extension. It’s called .mobi.

.Mobi is the extension of choice for websites that are being formatted for cell phones, pdas and other mobile devices. It can be bought from most major domain name companies such as Godaddy or Network Solutions. As far as registering a .mobi domain name, one would go through the same type of procedure that is associated with traditional domain names. This involves first choosing a .mobi domain name and seeing if it is available.
If it is not available, the domain name company will offer suggestions on what a person can use. Either way, the customer will be given another chance to select another .mobi domain name. Once they get one that is not taken, they can proceed to purchase it. The contract will last one to two years, depending on what they agreed upon with the domain name company. When the contract is up, a person will have to renew their .mobi domain name if they want to continue to keep it.
So, why would a webmaster decide to invest in a domain name that is restricted to mobile devices? Well, it’s mainly because they get an opportunity to center in on a market that is relatively new. Since most webmasters or companies are trying to take advantage of the .coms or the .nets, the .mobi has become somewhat forgotten. This means that it is prime for search engine keywords that would normally not be available for traditional domain names. It can also allow a webmaster a branding opportunity for their company.
However, since a .mobi domain name means a webmaster is creating a website specially designed for a mobile phone, it cannot have the types of frills that it could have if it was being promoted on a computer. Good mobile websites need to be mostly textual with very limited number of pics, (if any). Granted, plain text is not fancy, but it doesn’t require much loading time. Mobile phone sites should also not be very large nor should they be created with frames or other more complicated layouts.
A webmaster may also want to consider trying to divert the mobile website visitor to a regular website. One way this can be done is by advertising the domain name that is associated with a traditional website. But it must be made clear that the site will only display appropriately on regular computers. Another option is trying to capture the person’s email address by offering them something free, such as an e-book or low-cost merchandise.
When they sign up to the email subscription, their first newsletter could advertise the traditional website a webmaster wants promoted. By doing either of these options, webmasters can still take advantage of pay-per-clicks or affiliate programs, revenue generators which may not be promoted on .mobi websites due to viewing limitations with banner or text ads.

3 Options For Hosting Multiple Websites
October 5, 2011 | 2 Comments
Web hosting is cheap enough that it’s possible for most people to run multiple websites. You have a few hosting options if you’re setting up multiple sites – find out what they are and which is the best choice for you.

The prices of domain name registration and web hosting have dropped to the point that it’s possible to own multiple websites without going broke. If you plan to operate multiple websites, here is some information on the different options available to you.
The first thing to consider when setting up multiple websites is whether or not to host them all with the same web hosting company. Many web hosts offer packages that let you set up multiple sites on a single account and almost all will let you set up multiple accounts, one for each site.
If you are happy with the hosting company you’re using for your existing website(s), one advantage of using them for another site is the fact that you know they offer good service and support.
They might also offer discounts for multiple sites, so your costs might be lower if you stay with them again.
On the other hand, if you choose a different host you’ll be able to compare the quality of another company with whomever you’re currently using. If you ever run into problems with them, you’ll have an alternative. It’s wise not to “put all your eggs in one basket” as the saying goes.
Another advantage of using a different host is that you’ll get a different IP address for each of your sites. If your sites are related to one another and you want to link them together, having different IP addresses can sometimes help your site rank higher in the search engines.
Links from other sites are one of the most important factors in getting your site ranked highly. If those links come from sites on the same IP address, it is a signal to the search engines that they are quite likely all owned by the same person, and they may discount the value of those links.
If you do choose to host all your sites with one company, there are essentially 3 choices – separate accounts for each site, a reseller account where they are all hosted or a dedicated server, again where they are all hosted.
Separate accounts are self-explanatory, so let’s look at reseller accounts. As a reseller, you are basically acting as an agent for the hosting company – a middleman between them and the end user.
The idea is that you can set up your own company offering web hosting that is ultimately hosted by the company. You don’t have to resell this hosting however – you can use the hosting services for your own websites, essentially “reselling” the hosting to yourself.
A reseller account is nice because all your websites are “under one roof” and you have a single point of contact for any technical problems.
Hosting on a dedicated server gives you complete control of the computer that is the web server. You can install any software you want, any operating system you want and you can allocate resources like memory and hard disk space however you want to divide it up between your sites.
The disadvantage of a dedicated server is that you are responsible for maintaining the server and sometimes even for the technical side of things. If you aren’t familiar with the technical side of running a web server, you may need to choose a managed dedicated server, where the hosting company looks after these issues.
Dedicated server are, of course, more expensive than the other options, so unless your websites are well established, with a lot of traffic, they may not fit within your budget.

All About The DNS Domain Name System
September 9, 2011 | 3 Comments
We all know that in the world of domain names today, the presence of the DNS domain name system is very much significant. It is interesting to know that the acronym DNS actually stands for Domain Name System/Service/Server. However, I will be using the term DNS domain name system here to provide you with a clear knowledge about the meaning of this particular thing.

The DNS domain name system is actually a powerful tool that contributes a great part in the domain name process. It is often described as an internet service that translates or transforms the domain names into an IP or Internet Protocol address.
Aside from knowing such basic function of the DNS domain name system, it is also interesting to learn that a basic possession of the DNS domain name system is caching. This property takes place in situations when a server welcomes information about a mapping, it caches that information. Therefore, with such function, a later question for similar mapping can use the cached output, and will not result to additional questions to other servers. And generally, the DNS domain name system applies the caching to optimize the cost of the search. But how does the DNS domain name system caching works?
In terms of caching, it is very nice to know that every server has a cache for currently applied names along with records of where the mapping data for a particular name was taken. So when a particular client is asking the server to determine a certain domain name, the DNS domain name system then does check if it has the power for a domain name, and if it does, the system doesn’t need to cache the information. However, if it has no authority for a domain name, the DNS domain name system then checks its cache whether the domain name has been resolved currently, and if yes, the DNS domain name system reports the caching data to its clients.
There are some instances that the DNS domain name system cache can be examined when the system cached the data once, but didn’t adjust it. Due to the reason that the information about a certain domain name can be changed, the server may have inaccurate data in its caching table. There is a certain value known as the Time to Live or known as TTL which is applied when to age the information. So whenever an authority responds to a request for a domain name, it then involves a Time to Live value in the answer which indicates how long it assures the binding to linger.

How To Write The Greatest Article Ever Written!
August 2, 2011 | 2 Comments
The first step to writing a great article is, to write about how to help your reader get what they want, and achieve their dreams.

The simplest way to start writing a great article is: Start just jotting down notes, sentences, paragraphs, as things start coming to you. Don’t worry about grammar or spelling at this time just take note. You will be bringing it all together later. Just get started. One way to help you with this simple task is to carry a small recorder with you at all times. When you think of something just record it and come back to it later and write it down. This is a great idea for those who have busy schedules. Don’t worry, if you don’t have a recorder a note pad will do.
Write about things that is important to your reader and offer them advise about how to improve their circumstances and how to achieve their dreams. When writing a article, write like you are talking to someone. You advice has to be helpful, not condemning. Write as though you are talking to them, not at them.
How To Get Your Article Read!
Write a short heading saying something like this: This information has been a great help to me, I thought it might be interesting to you also. Share with others what has worked for you. Your hearts desire as a writer should be to help others save time, heart ache, and money. And reach their goals in the shortest period of time.
Make sure your advice is easy to understand and easy to put into action. Don’t confuse your readers with a lot of do’s and don’ts. This is considered TMI (To Much Information). Stick with the facts. Talk about your reader, Not about you.
People want to learn about how to avoid pain and get what they want. The sure fire way to get your article read is to define the readers problem. Now tell them how to solve the problem. This makes reader begin to think and makes your article sticky.
I’m only trying to help those who want to become successful writers, just write from your heart. Reach out to your readers and truly offer information that will help them. Your rewards will come later. You only receive after you have given. You don’t receive before you give.
Be A Problem Solver!
Think of areas or problems you have had when you tried to do something. Then what did you do that made it a lot easier. Then what was your reward for solving the problem. Keep it simple, just the facts.
I guarantee if you practice what I’m revealing to you here in this article, you will in time become one of the most sought after Authors, but it takes time. But you must really want to help your fellow man and don’t focus on trying to sell something or sound like you’re a sales person. Article are not to be written in that manner. Make sure you have read the submission policy before submitting your articles. When writing just be yourself. A true help to man kind.
How To Become The Super Article Writer!
How to information is very valuable. People want to know How To do something. Just start taking notes as your thoughts start coming to you. Let your feelings flow. I truly believe that everyone has some advice that could help some one. And most people will offer many excuses like. I don’t know where to start or I don’t know what to say. No, I think the real problem is, they just don’t get started. If they would just start I think they would be amazed at their knowledge and feeling good about themselves because they truly helped someone more on with their life. Or become a better person.
Ok, now you have finished writing all your notes. Now its time to edit your notes and rewrite them as a draft. Delete the garbage and rewrite the strengths of your message.
Make Your Article Interesting To Read!
All this means is to make your article easy to read and understand. Try to keep your paragraphs short. Don’t try to crowd to much into one paragraph. And don’t be to serious because this becomes boring reading material. Be creative and write a funny sentence every once and awhile, but stay focused on offering advice about solving their problems.
Write With Seeing Words!
Use words that makes the reader see their situation and see the solution. It’s like writing in such a way that the reader see’s and feels the message being presented to them. Much like watching a movie. Write with feelings. Believe what you are writing about.
Now Sharpen Your Articles Appearance!
Now that you have rewritten your notes and edited the garbage and rewritten the strengths as a draft. Now its time to rewrite this draft one more time. That’s right, just one more time. But this time either add more to it or subtract even more weak words. This will be your final Super Article. Remove all the words with no strength or wasted words.
Now, read your Super Article over again. Is there some more weak words or can you improve it some more by adding to its strengths? Now once this is done let your family and friends proof read it and get their feedback. If the feedback is good. Start submitting right away.
Congratulation!
You have just become a great author. Give yourself a pat on the back you deserve it.

Registering A Domain? Wait! 10 Tips For You!
May 17, 2011 | 1 Comment

Before you register your domain name, you should read these tips because many people come up with a catchy name, or feel the need to lock in their name, and rush out to buy a domain name. But there are several things to consider in your domain name. After all, your domain name is an extension of your business and your image, don’t you want to project the right one?
These ten tips will help you to choose the right domain name for you and/or your business.
1. The extension you select makes a statement to user about where you are and who you are aiming to attract. For example, .co.uk tells people you are operating out of the United Kingdom, and .ca tells them you are operating out of Canada. If that is important to you, then register accordingly. If you would rather give them impression of being a global company, or based in the US, then pick a .com name.
2. Use a reputable registration service. Unfortunately, some domain registration services are little more than a scam. They are only middlemen. You tell them the domain name you want, and they register it, for a fee higher than you would pay! In the worst case, they actually register the domain name using their information, so it becomes very difficult for you to do anything with your domain name.
Do some background research into the company before you register a domain with them.
3. Use keywords in your domain name. These will sometimes help search engines in ranking your website. For example, if you sell gourmet dog treats online and from your own store, but your business name is “Laura’s Homemade Snacks,” you might consider two domain names: one for your business name, and one for keywords. In this case you might select “gourmetdogtreats.com” as your domain name to represent to the search engines and searchers what you are about.
4. Short names are easier to spell correctly. What’s easier to remember and type in: gourmetdogtreats.com, or laurashomemadeandgourmetdogsnacks.com?
5. Avoid trademarks from other companies. Companies have been known to sue website owners for copyright and trademark infringement, so be very careful if you try to play off an existing business. Make sure that you register a domain name in good faith, and think about the possibilities and connections that might exist between you and another business.
6. Avoid hyphens. Sometimes you must use hyphens because the straightforward name is gone. In that case, a better idea is to come up with a completely different name. The problem with hyphens is that users may end up visiting the wrong site. If you try to register gourmetdogtreats.com but it is already taken, you might choose to register gourmet-dog-treats.com instead. But you run the risk of someone trying to find you typing in the first address. This means you lose business. Better to try and register a name like homemadedogtreats.com instead.
7. Consider buying several different extensions so no one else can infringe on your success by registering a similar name. For example, if you register homemadedogtreats.com, you might also take .net and .org (with the same name), since these are the most popular extensions after .com. That way, no one can register homemadedogtreats.net and try to piggyback of your success.
8. Look for companies that offer telephone support. If you have trouble with your domain name, you need to be able to contact the company and talk to someone. If there is no phone contact, that may be a sign that you are not dealing with a reputable company.
9. Look for accreditations (i.e., ICANN). Reputable companies will seek out accreditations because they know it boosts their business image to be part of a group that enforces good business ethics and practices. Failure to have an accreditation does not necessarily mean the company is bad, but it could mean that. If the company you are looking at does not have an accreditation, make sure you check for other things like phone support, payment procedures, etc.

10. After you find a company you like, do a search on Google for “domain registration.” Does your company of choice appear in the first couple of pages of results, or just via Adwords? If the latter, they may not have been around for a long time and may not be reputable. A legitimate company with a solid track record will be ranked in Google’s search engine, especially within the first couple of pages. Beware of registration companies that you can only find in Adwords.
These ten tips will help you as you seek to register your domain name.

Best Web Site Design Software
March 15, 2011 | 5 Comments

There are many different ways to build a web site, some are easy and some a little more complicated but one thing for sure it’s a lot easier if we can find the best web site design software.
But no matter which web site design software we use there are a number of mistakes we should avoid:
- Mistake #1: Using too large of a graphic header on the top of your page.
- Mistake #2: Using “washed out” colors that make your web site feel drab and lifeless. Or using colors that are WAY too bright.
- Mistake #3: Using more than four colors (one of those being black!) on your web site.
- Mistake #4: Using more than four different TYPES of fonts on the same page.
- Mistake #5: Displaying your sales “message” on a dark colored background!
- Mistake #6: Using too many “tricked out” scripts at once which causes browser “freeze”
- Mistake #7: Cramming way too much content into too small of a space. (Not enough white space.)
- Mistake #8: Using “busy” or “watermarked” background patterns.
- Mistake #9: Specifying fonts that are TOO SMALL!
(This isn’t so much a design mistake as it is one related to the overall process…) - Mistake #10: Not clearly identifying your offer.
It doesn’t matter if you have the best web site design software on the planet if you make these mistakes your web site is doomed to fail. So which web site design software should we use? That really depends on a number of factors, level of experience, the product you’re promoting, how detailed you want you site.
Normally I don’t promote a product in my articles but since we’re here to talk about the best web site design software, I’ll mention a couple of them. The first is CoffeeCup HTML editor, this is the first web site design software I ever used, I found it bulky and hard to use, the next was a web site design software called Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is a decent program but it’s pretty tuff for the beginner to use.
The Best Web Site Design Software I’ve found is called:
WebPlus-X5
As far as I’m concerned this is the best web site design software there is. It walks you step-by-step through what to do and how to do it. Every step is clearly laid out and labeled with big, blue numbers and step-by-step screen caps (with support by video as needed).
Saves you tons of time. All you do is click and follow the instructions. You don’t have to try to figure out what’s next. You just click the next icon and follow the steps. The step-by-step screen caps make it much faster and easier to use and follow than programs that are all videos.
Something for you if you’re a beginner or advanced student. Design Dashboard was created for beginners. But there are a few steps for advanced students as well. For example, you get EXCLUSIVE patterns that beat the heck out of the defaults in Photoshop or Elements. Those alone are worth the price.
I hope I’ve made your search for the best web site design software a little easier.

Google Adwords: An Advice For Market Research
March 1, 2011 | 3 Comments
Today I am going to be offering some advice and solutions on specific mistakes that people make when venturing into google adwords. It also Helps to refresh my memory now and again to. Heres the first.
A problem that I see crop up time and time again is when people choose their keywords before they find there niche market. Many people that get into PPC advertising set up a campaign, set their CPC’s high, add a truck load of keywords that they think will convert, and then begin to research the product that there trying to sell. This is all wrong!
It is very important that you seek out your market before you find a product to promote to them.Try going on forums or visiting newsgroups and focus groups…see whats hot, what people are having problems with or complaining about and looking for a solution to — and then deliver a product to these people.
Lets look at it from a different angle. If you have a stand that sells pizza in a demographic where everyone likes to eat only Chinese, you are not going to sell many pizzas, no matter how delicious. The same goes for online promotions, if you are promoting the wrong products to people or trying to sell to people who simply are not hungry to buy, they are not going to purchase from you.
So whats the lesson? Focus on market research before promoting a product. Spend time to learn your audience, what they buy, why they buy, and then look at what fellow affiliates are doing. This will give you a great starting point before you jump into the “deep end”.
Only then should you start looking at your chosen market and product on a keyword level, but that’s an entirely different article!!
